It is an If – Then equation… and you know it.
If we do, then there is the Then.
Necessary consequence of thought and feeling, anyway.
If we are left alone, our devices, our ways, what then?
Do you lean while I blank, petit mal, wordless, pout apart,
lip-ripe wait for you? Or do you stall, take safer route –
Sit, thumb-twiddling, wishing, wanting,
but ultimately avoiding perhaps the only way you know how?
If we meet there is the Then.
Such simple Socratic equation – no tautology here:
No if a. is b and then b. must be a. –
no, a man who desires good things must be good.
No hairpin turn. I pass this to you simply then;
Kiss me now. Before the moment passes.
Before there is nothing left between us but regret.
