The red double-decker buses of London, known as Routemasters, were and will likely always be, as long as they remained in service, symbolic of London herself. Not only were the buses aesthetically pleasing, but more, they allowed transport of more passengers in a single bus using the same amount of ground space with their two tier design. The red double-decker buses have become symbolic of London itself, with tourists the world over snapping photographs and taking tour rides through out the city by double-decker.--- note: the rest of this article will be coming out in BBC's The Post.
