west season | two words

Always you want to head west,
yet still the ride draws you electrically southbound, Medusa on rails.
Just this once you’d like to feel the laissez fair air of the other coast –
to be as pacific as the Pacific; specific in your desires and your wants.
But no. You are a Nor’easter – a Season In Hell.
It’s what you know best; fuck the rest –
Deal the hand your dealt.
Fine threaded palm-lines of destiny and portents;
you never did believe.
Are you starting to now?
